My life! My name is Virey An. I was born and raised in Battambang, Cambodia in 1964 to the well-educate and well-off parents. My father (An, Seng) graduated from the Law school in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 1949. My mother graduated from College in 1952, Mongkol Borey, Battambang, Cambodia where her parents owned import and export rice business plus real estate whom escaped from China in 1949 to Cambodia. My father’s parents were a rice producer in Battambang province whom owned ten thousands of hectares of land.

When I was 5 years old, my parents sent me to live with my mother’s youngest sister, whom was an elementary school teacher and her husband was a school principal until 1975. I left Cambodia in 1978 to seek a better life in the West. I, my three siblings, and my grandpa were living at Cambodian-Thailand border until the refugee camp opening in Thailand……

I began compiling English to Cambodian language at the end of 1979 while I was an English student in a Khao-I-Dang refugee camp in Thailand. I came to Oregon, United States of America in October 31, 1981. I was settled down in the city of Beaverton along with my three siblings and my grandpa (Lim, Peng) whom was a very successful businessman in Cambodia, passed away while I was in Cambodia promoting my first edition : The Orkida® Dictionary of The English-Cambodian Languages - ISBN 09657036-0-6 in 1998.

I graduated from Beaverton High School in 1985, Portland Community College in 1990, and Portland State University in 1993. I received High School Diploma from BHS, Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of General Studies, Certificates in Data Processing, Microcomputer Information Systems from PCC, and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & General Studies from PSU. I studied Computer Networking at University of Phoenix in Hillsboro, OR in 2003 and Culinary Arts at Clark College in Vancouver, WA in 2005.

This is the third times that I have updated The Orkida® Dictionary of The English-Cambodian Languages since it published in 1998. I have written English-Khmer, Khmer-English, and Khmer thesauri as many as fifty books newly. I have revised, updated, and edited Khmer Dictionary for lookup Khmer words also.

Currently, I am working on many projects simultaneously which will be available online later……
